Document Summary System Overview

Document Summary System developed by Clearly Understood, Inc. is a powerful, new software applicaton that automatically summarizes documents, enhancing productivity and saving time.  This search and summarization technology was created to improve the content search experience while delivering the convenience of an automated document summarization from virtually any document.  It’s easy to use, desktop based, and web-enabled.
 

The tedious task of sifting through and reading endless pages of text trying to find relevant content is over.  Document Summary System realizes the importance of the source document as well as the wording.  This unique search and summarization tool analyzes textual information based on natural language search technology which incorporates linguistic rules that powers the summarization engine.  This allows for effortless summarizing of separate documents as well as web site pages producing a short or full summary based on keywords and natural language queries.


Document Summary System Basic Edition

The core functionality of the Basic Edition consists in summarizing one document at a time to produce a short or full summary using keywords or natural language queries allowing the user to grasp the main idea without reading the entire document.  This single user license processes and summarizes virtually any document with formats including pdf, doc, txt, htm, html, asp, aspx, xml, ppt, and rtf with an individual maximum document size of approximately 14,000 sentences.

Document Summary System Standard Edition

The core functionality of the Standard Edition is the ability to create multiple Projects each with multiple documents.  Within each Project you have the ability to generate summaries using keywords or natural language queries.  Multiple summaries are created based on the ability to add multiple files within the Project.  Files can be added from accessing your computer files or from the web with its built in Web Downloads tab with formats including pdf, doc, txt, htm, html, asp, aspx, xml, ppt, and rtf with a maximum individual document size of approximately 14,000 sentences.

Users can create detailed profiles including names, titles, dates, and authors; specify the short summary length, set the compression ratio of each full summary, and set the summary bias towards keywords and queries; and view or print a report.

System Requirements and Installation

Your system must meet the minimum requirements to install and use Document Summary System Basic and Standard for Windows®:

  • - Microsoft® Windows®  2000 with Service Pack 2 (SP2), Windows 2003, Windows XP Professional or Home Edition with SP1 or SP2, or Windows Vista  - (with NET Framework 2.0 instaled) 
  • - 256 MB of RAM, 40MB of available hard disk space for Document Summary System plus space for documnets being summarized,  800 x 600 or higher screen resolution recommended 
  • - Internet Explorer 5.5, 6.0, 7.0
